My name is Krista Westmoreland, and I am an enthusiastic fan and instructor of ISR Lessons. My background is in education, and I was an elementary school teacher. I first heard about ISR when I was an educator…about 11-12 years ago now. Long before I had children of my own! I was amazed at what I heard children learning to do.
When my husband Bil and I had children, we wholeheartedly enrolled our children in these survival lessons. Although it took my two kids, Mason and Kate, a little time to get comfortable being apart from me in the water with an ISR instructor, the results were phenomenal! As a parent—as well as a teacher—I became passionate about the program. Every friend, and many acquaintances (and ok, strangers I met at the pools where they would see my kids swimming), quickly enrolled their kids in the program, and I often hear it was one of the best parental choices they made as parents!
As I had become a stay-at-home mom when we began our family, the time came when both of my children started school. I knew that I wanted to go back to work where I could make an impact in children’s lives. Thus, I decided to dedicate my life to teaching other children aquatic self-rescue™ instruction so other children could benefit in the same ways Mason and Kate have. I strongly feel that ISR is a priceless gift to children ages 6 months-6 years, and to date over 160,000 children have been taught ISR’s aquatic self-rescue™ instruction around the country.
