Hello, my name is Erin Kent.

I live with my husband and our four children in the Ahwatukee area of Phoenix, AZ. I have a passion for working with children and my husband's military career has allowed me numerous opportunities to do so. In 2002, I was working with the state youth recovery program, Arizona Project Challenge in Queen Creek, AZ. The military then took my family to Yuma where I taught literature and math to 7th-9th graders at Carpe Diem Academy. Then in 2004, my husband's new military assignment brought us to Tucson where I served as the 11am Preschool Director for a large, local church; and also where we purchased our first home with a swimming pool. Noticing my then 12 month-old son's love and obsession with the pool, I began my search for safe and effective swim lessons for him. After contacting a number of programs and being told that they could not teach children under 3 years of age to swim, I contacted ISR and learned that my son could not only be taught swimming but that he would also learn self-rescue skills that could save his life if involved in an aquatic accident.

I enrolled my son (shown above) in ISR Lessons, read the Parent Resource Book and Dr. Barnett's ISR Website, www.infantswim.com. After seeing my son become a successful swimmer in just 6 weeks, I became an enthusiastic supporter of ISR. Shortly after my son completed lessons, a local drowning involving two young brothers forced me to consider that it could have been my son if he had not received the training that he did through ISR. At that moment I decided to pursue a career with ISR so that I could continue to work with children teaching them the aquatic skills that they could use to save themselves if involved in a an aquatic accident. I became a Certified ISR Instructor in 2005, have taught these skills to over 100 children and continue teaching private lessons from my home & heated community pools in the Ahwatukee Foothills area.
