My name is Angela Champion. I live with my husband and our two daughters in Sahuarita. Growing up in California I learned to love the water at an early age. I started to swim competitively at age 6. This took me on a path to teach stroke development lessons and then I became certified through the Red Cross to teach "traditional" swim lessons. My passion for being in close proximity to the water led me to become assistant Director of the Base Pool in Aviano, Italy during our 7 year tour. Even though it was not required I was always in the water teaching; I taught traditional swim lessons for 14 years. My search for making a difference to children and my passion for safety “hooked” me on ISR when I first observed a child performing ISR skills. After speaking to the instructor and reading Dr. Barnett’s ISR website (www.infantswim.com) , I began my 5 week intense training to become a Certified ISR Instructor. I have been teaching ISR lessons for 5 years. Last year I was nominated for the Masters Instructor Candidate program and completed the additional 12 weeks of rigorous training to become a Master Instructor.

I have always had a passion for swimming. Every time I get in the water with a child I know that I am fulfilling my purpose. Becoming an ISR instructor and teaching these life saving skills to children is truly a dream come true; I can’t imagine having a more rewarding job!!

For lessons in Bakersfield: TUITION IS $95.00 PER WEEK. After selecting a time slot for your child's lessons I will send you the URL for you to register your child on-line (this can be completed no earlier than ONE month prior to starting date of lessons). I will email you the address, directions and date once I receive conformation on your registration. Your first week's tuition made payable to Angela Champion will be due no later than TWO weeks after you select a time-slot; this is not refundable. This will secure your time slot. The remainder of the tuition is due each Monday of the current week of lessons.

Sick Child Policy: There are several conditions that may preclude a lesson on any given day. The most common among those are vomiting and/or diarrhea during the last 24 hours, a fever of 100 degrees or higher during the last 24 hours or eye discharge during the last 48 hours. Please leave a message on my machine at 520-904-4272 if your child will not be attending lessons or if you have questions about his/her health.

Weather Policy: If the weather appears questionable on any given day, please check my message machine at 520-904-4272 for the current day. This message will be updated each day that the weather looks or feels questionable. If there is not a specific message about lesson cancellation, assume there will be lessons.
